Snarky sci fi writer's take on the "Creation Museum"

"Horseshit. Complete horseshit. Utter horseshit. Total horseshit. Horseshit, horseshit, horseshit, horseshit.....that is the key to understanding the Creation Museum."

Science fiction author, John Scalzi, was challenged by his readers to visit the Creation Museum that was built near his home. This is his essay/diatribe about his visit. Funny stuff.

Neal, you've probably heard of this guy. I have one of his books but haven't cracked it yet.

great blog post, thanks

I had heard of Scalzi but like you have not read any yet.

There is a good interview with him in the August issue of Locus that I read recently.

Just tore through Scalzi's trilogy starting with Old Man's war, pretty good, fast reads.
Very Heinlein.

I have Old Man's War sitting on my nightstand, but haven't cracked it. Now I'm reading The Crook Factory, by Dan Simmons. It's a spy novel that takes place in WWII era Cuba, featuring Ernest Hemingway. I've liked just about everything I've read by Simmons, but this one goes boring-interesting-boring-interesting-boring-boring. Not too satisfying.

I liked crook factory it is more satisfying by the end.

Did you ever get to Ilium and Olympos? Those are Simmon's best by far.

I also liked The Terror.

I got Troy and Monica both to read it several years ago.

Just finished the Last witchfinder by Morrow (the towing Jehova guy) much more of a mature effort.

Also really liked neal stephensons cryptonomicon books earlier this year.

Yeah I read the Olympos books. They were alright. My faves are the Hyperion books. I also really liked his trio of hard boiled crime novels with the character, Kurtz.
