There may be no crying in baseball, but...
This auction house received a bunch of actual, official Major League baseball documents from the olden days of the sport. One referred to "special instructions for players," explaining how it's inappropriate for the players to curse at fans, umpires, etc. The documents themselves contain lots of nasty language. Don't bother reading the article, but check out the scanned pages. Warms the heart...

That's a great document, and it needs to be shown to every krypto-racist who bemoans the lack of courtesy in baseball (cough, blacks, Latinos) compared to the "good old days."
I don't understand what you mean, Steve.
Whenever there's some crazy incident in baseball--or other sports, for that matter--it's always blamed on some racially coded things-have-changed-so-much-since-the-good-old-days phenomenon. Presumably things have gotten nastier since better-tanned individuals now dominate these sports. This document proves what I've always suspected about baseball--things were WORSE "back then."
I admire a pithy "go fuck yourself". Not seeing any problems here.
