Glen Campbell
Yes, he's most recently famous for his mugshot following a DUI arrest, but listen to this fucking song. Keep in mind you're hearing the voice of a seventy two year old man. Beautiful. This is from an album of covers that was just released called, Meet Glen Campbell. You can look at it as a cash-in on the popularity of Johnny Cash's recent albums of modern covers, but that would sell this one quite short. Don't let that keep you from listening to this.
(Oh yeah, Steve, a couple Jellyfish guys are on this. Roger Manning definitely.)

Kute
I don't know if this should be called "astonishing," but it's certainly impressive. This kid must be, what, 3 years old?

Photos from Iron Maiden's "Live After Death 2" tour

I don't know if they've released info on US tour dates yet. You may officially call me "asshole" if I don't make it to one of these shows. Hopefully Bruce Dickinson won't crash the plane before they make it to CA. I hear that since they foisted their entire new album on audiences each night on the last tour, they're going to stay strictly 80's on this one. Thank gawd. Photos

Price is Right theme - check out the bassline
Funny how something as mundane as this has a really cool bassline.

This is one reason I like heavy metal

Somebody looked at this album cover and said, "that's fucken awesome," without any irony.
As for Gamma Ray, they suck. An anagram of Gamma Ray is "ramma gay." Inspired by this, I went to wordsmith.org/anagram where I entered "Gamma Ray Land of the Free," which yielded such gems as "Horny Marmalade Fag Fete," and "a gay farmhand left me roe." Try it yourself.

Diamond Dave's isolated singing

Here's an mp3 of David Lee Roth's isolated vocal track for "Running With the Devil." He's such a silly son of a bitch, but I love it.

Powerhouse
From reading that Mothersbaugh article, I learned about Raymond Scott, the guy who composed a famous Looney Toons piece of music, called "Powerhouse." Rush threw that bit into their epic, La Villa Strangiato. I looked up Raymond Scott on the internet and discovered what an awesome guy he was--a jazz composer with a mathematical flair, and among other things, a sonic/electronic innovator upon whose teats such heavyweights as Tangerine Dream must have suckled. Check this mutha out!
