Happy Holidays

This is a comic by a guy named Patrick Farley. It tells the story of this uptight, old hag who harasses a family of pagans at christmas-time. You get some nice info about the "real" origins of the holidays. Some of the illustrations are sexually explicit, so be prepared, but they don't appear to be pornographic in intent.

Galaxy fight

The image is of a giant jet of radiation shot from a black hole at a smaller galaxy. Tubular.

Look at the size of this fucking rat!

From Indonesia or something.

Beatles play Stairway to Heaven

Well, almost the Beatles. Still, it's uncanny.

Giant article on Mark Mothersbaugh

For the reader who doesn't know, Mark Mothersbaugh is the mastermind behind legendary weirdos, Devo. He's the guy in the video for "Whip It," wearing glasses. For years Mothersbaugh has been composing music for commercials, tv shows, movies, etc. All sorts of shit. He has over 100 composer credits on imdb.com Most notable is his score for the film, "Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise," a movie also notable for its lack of full-frontal female nudity, of which its predecessor had a generous amount. But I digress. Read the article.

There may be no crying in baseball, but...

This auction house received a bunch of actual, official Major League baseball documents from the olden days of the sport. One referred to "special instructions for players," explaining how it's inappropriate for the players to curse at fans, umpires, etc. The documents themselves contain lots of nasty language. Don't bother reading the article, but check out the scanned pages. Warms the heart...

Remixed trailer for Mary Poppins

Left Coast Special

This is my cajun band. I should say it is rather Pat McEvoy's cajun band, since he is what you might call the "band leader." But this is the band I play in. It consists of me on acoustic guitar, Pat on the accordion, Calvin Keaoola on violin or "fiddle," and Liz Byrne on triangle. We play so-called traditional cajun music, which doesn't include electrified instruments or drum sets. There's a lot of cajun out there that wants to be like rock n' roll, but this ain't it. By the way, Zydeco is not the same thing as cajun, though they are similar. Zydeco is kind of the black version of cajun, much more bluesy.

Click here to download a file with seven low quality recordings of us playing in Pat's kitchen. If you're wondering, there are no high quality recordings of the band.
