Giant article on Mark Mothersbaugh

For the reader who doesn't know, Mark Mothersbaugh is the mastermind behind legendary weirdos, Devo. He's the guy in the video for "Whip It," wearing glasses. For years Mothersbaugh has been composing music for commercials, tv shows, movies, etc. All sorts of shit. He has over 100 composer credits on imdb.com Most notable is his score for the film, "Revenge of the Nerds II: Nerds in Paradise," a movie also notable for its lack of full-frontal female nudity, of which its predecessor had a generous amount. But I digress. Read the article.

That's a great article. I'm always fascinated by intimidating-looking analog devices--like that monstrosity behind him. The Electronium?!

I have to say my favorite electronic/synth-pop outfit of the early 80's is Ultravox. Great melodies, great arrangements--just great songs. You ever dig any of their stuff, Chris?

I'm not familiar with Ultravox. It's a name I remember seeing in those Columbia Record House ads in TV Guide, but I don't know what songs are theirs.
