Left Coast Special
This is my cajun band. I should say it is rather Pat McEvoy's cajun band, since he is what you might call the "band leader." But this is the band I play in. It consists of me on acoustic guitar, Pat on the accordion, Calvin Keaoola on violin or "fiddle," and Liz Byrne on triangle. We play so-called traditional cajun music, which doesn't include electrified instruments or drum sets. There's a lot of cajun out there that wants to be like rock n' roll, but this ain't it. By the way, Zydeco is not the same thing as cajun, though they are similar. Zydeco is kind of the black version of cajun, much more bluesy.
Click here to download a file with seven low quality recordings of us playing in Pat's kitchen. If you're wondering, there are no high quality recordings of the band.

I like it! You guys playing gigs?
Glad you like it. We've played a couple gigs and a few open mics. I was hoping to do a couple more gigs before the end of this year, but it don't look like we will.
